Staff Details

My name is Diana Cowie and I live in Arrowtown with my Husband, James and our 3 boys (Luke 8yrs, Thomas 5yrs and Mace 2.9yrs). I have lived in Arrowtown for 35 years. After school I gained my Diploma in ECE with the Christchurch College of Education whilst working at the Arrowtown Montessori Pre-school. I have been the head teacher in both the under 3yr and over 3yr rooms.

I left when I became pregnant with my 2nd son (Thomas) and became a home-based educator, it is then that I began to understand and develop a passion for home-based education, I could really see the benefits for both my son and I and the children I was caring for.

During my spare time I enjoy dancing, I belong to a dance group in Arrowtown where we perform a can-can dance for work functions, the Arrowtown Autumn Festival and we even performed at the Shanghai Tourism Festival. As a family, we enjoy bike rides, swimming, boating, camping and hanging out with friends. As I am a mum of 3 busy boys, I am also involved in the Scouts club where I am the volunteer’s co-ordinator, my sons’ Rugby and various other after school sports/ activities
