I have been a homebased educator since August 2019 and before then worked in different childcare centres over the years in Blenheim. My passion is working with 0-5y children and watching them grow and develop into awesome individuals, to me this is one of the greatest rewards to experience and be a part of.
I have my level 4 Early Childhood Education and Care Certificate as well as a current first aid certificate.
I love animals, I have 4 cats which all the children just love, and I believe it is good for children to be around animals, it helps teach them compassion and to nurture and care for other living things.
Most mornings I take the children out, whether it is to a planned activity, walks, parks or to other educator’s homes, we are normally home by lunch time for sleeps and quiet time to recharge, then we are into activities based at home. I believe children thrive and grow with routine. Taking the children out in the mornings gives them the social interaction with other children that I believe all children need so they can learn and develop skills from sharing and being around other children and babies as well as how to behave and be respectful in social situations while staying safe and learning their own personal boundaries.
