Kia Ora, my name is Bobbie Parata. I am the proud mother of three and grandmother of three. I currently live in Ranfurly with my two dogs and cats. I enjoy being part of a small rural community. I am a fully registered experienced teacher and I have over thirty years’ experience in early childhood education. I have worked in a variety of environments within the early childhood sector such as home based (Nanny), hospital (on the ward as a Play Specialist), centre based, and home based (Home educator), working with a wide and diverse groups of people.
I enjoy learning with and alongside children, celebrating and sharing their interests, strengths and discoveries. My practice has a strong focus on enabling children access to the natural world as much as possible such as playing in the rain, jumping in puddles, digging in the earth and interacting with animals and insects. My love and passion for learning with and alongside children and their whānau is what drives my practice, providing and supporting others for the best outcomes for children and their whānau based on my knowledge of them as unique individuals, as a community and current theories, research and practices.
